辅导 MKF5912-Marketing research Week 12讲解 回归

Before attempting this mini-task you should study Chapter 16 of the prescribed textbook (Marketing Research).

Welcome to Week 12 and the final mini-task submission. Mini-Task 12 deals with how we present our research, especially our research findings at the conclusion of a research study. It also deals with ethics.

The way we present our research assists in managerial decision-making. The easier a marketing research report is to read, the easier it is for decision-makers to act on it. To assist decision-makers reach a decision, we typically use illustrations to summarise major findings. After all, "a picture tells a thousand word".

This brings us to the ethical use of illustrations to illustrate important aspects of the research study's findings. Graphs and charts can all be "manipulated" to show what we want the reader to see (with a view of influencing the managerial decision), rather than what really occurred.

With that in mind, find 3 examples of some media articles or publications that use misleading graphs. Try to find some recent examples, not the old examples that are scattered around the Internet. Explain why graphs are wrong and how they can be improved. Here are the graphs which you should NOT submit. Find something new and more interesting.
