For this week's assignment, I want you to identify two scenarios from home, school, or work where Predictive Maintenance could be implemented using one of the technologies you reviewed in the chapter outline/ resources module for this week. This would include PDM data collection / analysis technologies of: vibration analysis, spectrography, thermography, chemical analysis (I do not think there is a specific video on this so just refer to the textbook), and ultrasonics.
1. For each example, you should include (You need to provide 2 EXAMPLES)
o A description of the system
o The characteristic of the system that you would be evaluating (i.e. what is it about the system that you are going to monitor or measure and what failure are you trying to predict/prevent)
o A description of the technology used to collect data about the system.
o An explanation of how the technology used to collect data could/would be used to predict a failure.
2. Under what conditions do you think Industry 4.0 makes sense in a maintenance system? Explain when you think it is appropriate and when it is not (You might think it is appropriate in all cases which is fine just tell me why)
