Writing and Presenting Mathematics – Major Projects
The two projects
In the following weeks, you will have a Major Project to write in LATEXand submit
For the Major project, there are 6 topics to choose from (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 or C2). They are described in 3 documents available on Moodle in the Major Project section, and will be presented to you this week (Week 3) during the 3 following project lectures
The due date for the Major Project is indicated in on Moodle and in the Timetable and deadlines document.
Marking criteria
The Major will be assessed according the following criteria:
Writing and structuring (40%)
Correctness and consistency (20%)
Typesetting and LATEX(20%)
Depth and breadth (10%)
Scholarship and referencing (10%)
Some further remarks
Your project reports must be written in LATEX. The Major Project is expected to be 10 pages long (using 11pt and 1 inch margin).
Projects submission is entirely electronic and through Moodle
Avoid the most common mistakes and follow the advices given in the common mistakes document
Your report may benefit from pictures and/or other illustrations
Be aware and operate within the University Policy and Governance on Plagiarism
