Finals Exam Guidelines
Two Parts – 2 separate days:
· Part 1 - Quiz (Lectures, Case Studies and Lab concepts) 50 min
· Part 2 - Lab (Use Case, SAP) 45 min
· Finals are not cumulative. Only material after Midterm is in scope. However, as is evident from the Case Study discussion, it covers concepts covered throughout the course. All material from case study is in scope irrespective of when the original concept was covered in class.
· Part 1 of the Finals - Quiz:
· will use a Lockdown Browser that will prevent the student from using any external resources through the computer. Use of a second computing device other than the primary one that is used for taking the exam is not allowed.
· will be open notes that can be accessed in handwritten or Printed format only. No digital notes, internet access or second computing system is allowed for this part.
· Part 2 of the Finals - Lab:
· will NOT use a Lockdown Browser
· Open notes/book – printed, handwritten or digital. Use of second computing device allowed
· There will be a 45 min timer set for the exam followed by a second 5 min end-timer. The purpose of the end timer is to let you assemble and upload your solution.
· No submissions would be accepted after the 2nd timer ends and the submission link is closed on Canvas.
· The finals will be administered on the date specified in the Syllabus in-person. It cannot be accessed online. If you are sick and unable to take it that day, contact me ASAP before the exam.
· A name tent identification is required to be placed in front of each student in class to validate identity during the Exam. Name tents were delivered at the start of the semester.
· If you have lost your name tent, you can write your name on a blank name tent with a black marker so that it is visible.
· It is not the Instructor’s responsibility to arrange for an alternate arrangement for a lost name tent
· There will be a 10% deduction if there is not a displayed Name tent during the Exam
· If you face any technical issue during the exam, let me know as soon as it happens. If you let me know at the end of the exam that you had an issue long before, I would not be able to provide any accommodations.
· There is no makeup Exam for the finals. If for any reason you are unable to take the finals on the date specified in the syllabus, I need to be notified at least 3 days prior to the exam date so that an alternate date can be agreed upon and approved. Failing this 3-day pre-approval, missing the finals will result in loss of all the points allocated to the exam.
· If you have DRS, please contact me ASAP via email to determine the logistics for the finals. To avail of DRS extensions, it is the responsibility of the student to reach out to the instructor to arrange for the logistics. All DRS arrangements need to be finalized at least 3 working days before the date of the exam to arrange for the required logistics. Email me ahead of the 3 days margin so that the logistics are finalized by that cutoff, failing which it would not be logistically possible to provide the DRS accommodations.
