Module Learning Outcomes:
This assignment is designed to assess the following module learning outcomes. Your submission will be marked using the Grading Criteria given in the section below.
● Reflect on the process and outcome of their project
Assignment:
Prepare a written log recording your personal reflections on your research journey over the course of your project.
Your log should consist of five entries, each a maximum of 400 words. This means your completed log must be no more than 2000 words in total. Each entry should have a title and the date it was written. Include all five entries on a single Word document.
Each entry in your log should reflect on a different aspect of your research journey. It is highly recommended that you write your entries over the course of the academic year, for example writing one entry after each of your supervision meetings.
Examples of aspects of your research journey suitable for reflecting upon include:
- how you went about coming up with your research idea
- the process of turning your research idea into a research question and/or objectives
- what you did to decide on a suitable theoretical framework for your research
- your feelings about the academic literature on your topic
- how you have managed your time to write up your research project
These are suggested examples only. You can choose to reflect on any aspects of your research journey you feel are important to you.
A 5-mark penalty will be applied if the maximum word count (2000 words) is exceeded by more than 10 percent.
Grading Criteria
Your submission will be graded according to the following criteria:
Reflections cover distinct and relevant aspects of the research journey
Reflections demonstrate richness, depth, and critical thinking
Reflections are supported by compelling evidence and examples
