Assessment Task Description:
This assignment is worth 15% of the total unit result. Using After Effects, Photoshop, and InDesign, you will create a 40-second motion design video featuring animated photography, typography, and sound to communicate key information about an intersting place of your choice. The video will use Ken Burns Effect combined with 2.5D Parallax Effect to bring sourced royalty-free images and possibly AI-generated images to life with motion. It will also include royalty-free music to set the mood and emotional tone of the sequence.

Submission Deadline:
The deadline for this project is before Monday 9 am, of Week 5.
Marking lecturers will check the date/time of your file upload and are required according to Monash policy to penalise students whose work is submitted late with 5% total grade deduction per day of lateness beginning immediately after the deadline has passed—the first day penalty begins from 1 min passed the deadline up to 24 hours, then day two penalty begins 24 hrs + 1 min passed the deadline etc. Work submitted 7 days beyond a deadline is an immediate N and zero result without feedback given.

ChatGPT (or equivalent) may be used to aid copywriting for video captions and title.
Some image-generation AI (e.g. Firefly, Midjourney, DALL-E, ChatGPT etc.) is permitted if necessary in the final video for selected final shots alongside sourced photographs, which are required.
Photoshop ’s Generative Fill may be used for image editing.
ChatGPT (or equivalent) can be used for project planning, research assistance, and concept development, but all final creative decisions must be your own.
× Restricted Use:
AI cannot be used for the design of visual elements: typography or non-photographic imagery.
Adobe Illustrator 's AI Text to Vector Generation is not permitted for any aspect this assignment.
Video-generation AI is not permitted for any part of this assignment.
